Jack's 2 year portraits

Let's just say that Jack wasn't too thrilled with getting his portraits done. He has become VERY attached to his binky lately and when I wouldn't let him take it into the mall he became quite upset... lots of tears and screaming.

But the people at the portrait place did a fantastic job considering what they had to work with. Jack wouldn't let go of Eric until the girl got him playing with the baseball and I think in the end we got some great pictures!

Jack's First Haircut

And boy did he need it!

We all loved his curls but it was just getting too long and too unruly and his hair just couldn't be managed anymore. So we broke down and got his hair cut. We had been putting it off for so long because we've heard nightmare stories of kids crying and screaming through getting their hair cut and we just didn't know how Jack would do.

But guess what... he did GREAT!!! We let him keep his binky because we figured it would keep him calm and we had him sit on daddy's lap for security. He never whimpered, cried, moaned, nothing! The only time he flinched a little was when she bent down his ear to cut the hair behind.

And for being such a good boy we decided to reward him and got him to aquarium cars to go with his Thomas trains.

Celebrating Eric's New Job

Cheers!

Any new job deserves a small celebration! So we went to Nana and Grandpa's house, to relax, drink and have dinner. What could be better?

March 1.. 2.. 3

Eric seems to have taught Jack a new little trick. He likes to march outside! But you had better be marching with him or he'll tell you to lift those knees! Oh, and make sure you're chanting "bum bum bum bum" as you do it!

PopPop's Birthday

PopPop (Eric's dad) turned 70! But you wouldn't have known it the way Jack had him playing. We all walked down to the playground (quite a parade) and Jack had himself (with Daddy pushing), Mommy, PopPop and MomMom all lined up on the swings! Great-Grams was allowed to sit on the bench. I was so disappointed that I didn't think to bring my camera. Then it was off to the see-saw and the jungle-gym.

Back at the house he was all about PopPop and followed him everywhere. He even let me take a couple cute pictures!

Fall Fest

What could be better in the fall? Cool weather, hay rides, corn maze, and pumpkins!!!

The little farmers market buy us has a free fall fest every year. We only had to pay for the hay ride, which might I add was Jack's FAVORITE part.

When he saw the tractor that pulled the hay ride he got very excited and made each of us take turns posing in front of it to have our picture taken (silly boy!).

He was so perfectly content to ride next to daddy on the hay ride. It was like he was really in his element. We tried to get him to sit with Nana and myself to get a picture but that lasted for about 30 seconds. He's definitely a daddy's boy.

When the hay ride was finished it led us into a corn maze. Jack led us through it, with a few wrong turns of course. :-)

It emptied us out into the pumpkin patch where a little grasshopper hitched a ride on Jack's sleeve. He didn't see it or he would have been very excited to see the "bug".

This is where my camera battery started to run out!!! Why does this happen at all the places that I want to take a lot of pictures! I need to look into getting a backup battery. I was able to get only a few pictures of Jack with pumpkins and such.

They had one of those big bouncy thingys for the kids and Jack was interested, even wanted us to take his shoes off but once it was time to get it he was too scared. I think if one of us had been able to get in too he would have enjoyed it but he didn't want to do it on his own.

Overall I think that Jack really enjoyed himself, with just a few tantrums here and there because there was so much going on. And boy was he angry when it was time to go home!

Happy Dance

He's only done it for a few people so far, so here it is caught on film.... Jack's Happy Dance!!!

I was also "allowed" to take some pictures of him this past weekend. He's been getting into the habit of tell me "no" and "camera away-way" when I get it out! *gasp* What will I do! But I was able to show him that I was taking his picture by showing him the viewer on the back and that was all it took. He'll still decide when he's done and tell me to put it away but I least I can take some without him crying and running at me!

In this one I swear he looks like a 4 year old instead of an almost 2 year old. He just loves that World War I book of Eric's for some reason ...

And a few more for fun...

Wedding Anniversary - 6 years!

Well, I guess the title says it all. Eric and I shared our 6 year wedding anniversary on October 6. It was a nice relaxing day. Jack spent the night with Nana and Eric and I were able to go have a very lovely dinner at Mendenhall Inn... where we were married 6 years ago.

The meal was wonderful, the drinks were well made and the champagne toast over dessert was perfect. Afterwards we walked down to the ballroom where we had our reception and peeked in on the wedding that was there. Very nostalgic night.
